tertium non data translated from latin means: the third is not given. it is an alchemic term which refers to the process of combining two disparate elements to create a new, third element. the process of transformation is a mystery - an unknown...

'tertium non data' lamentably is utterly wrong (as I learned in my old latin lessons once upon a time:)) correctly it must be run as following: 'tertium non datUM', because 'tertium' is neutrum, not femininum! (but in plural it would be: tertiA non data'... so, it's to you to decide:)) and it does NOT mean: a third, new thing out of two old ones, but: a third (thing) is NOT permitted/possible/existing... and not in alchemic esoterism, but it's a philosophical term of aristotelian logic! oh, PISA!PISA! PISA! o tempora, o mores! :))
